AN EVENING OF RECOGNITION OF THE VISION WALKERS

The Vision Walkers Recognition is to honour individuals who continue to keep the spirit of our way of life alive – by preserving the ancient way of life, the ceremonies, teachings, medicines, culture and language of the indigenous people of Turtle Island.

Vision Walkers are those who have walked and lived their visions, to benefit the survival of our way of life.

The initiation of this recognition has come through the Turtle Lodge, located near the centre of Turtle Island (North America). A group of people have come together to honour these Vision Walkers, these living individuals who continue to give of themselves.

Tickets for the Evening of Recognition of the Vision Walkers are available at $100/plate or $1000/table (10 tickets). Ticket proceeds will go to the Vision Walkers Fund.

The Vision Walkers Fund has been established to allow the elders to meet at least once a year for 2 to 4 days at the Turtle Lodge to discuss current issues affecting the communities, and to be available to any individual or organization seeking the help and mentorship of the elders. The benefit of the Elders Meeting will be to ensure that our knowledge is not lost.

Once we have established the dates of the Elders Meeting, issues of concern will be compiled to be brought to the elders for direction. When the elders meet they will be asked to offer a message of inspiration, hope and a message of direction for the people.

The importance of the Vision Walkers Fund is to express our independence as a people. At this time our limitation of resources has been a challenge to the sharing of and protection of our elders’ knowledge.

You or your organization can support the Vision Walkers Fund by making donations or purchasing tickets to the Vision Walkers Evening of Recognition: $100 per plate; $1000 per Group of 10. To purchase tickets or make a donation to the Vision Walkers Fund, please make a cheque payable to TURTLE LODGE (for Vision Walkers) and fill out the form below.
